Senior Pastor

Full-Time Paid Position

Stour Valley Vineyard Church is now recruiting for a new Senior Pastor to start in a full-time position from July 2021 (with some flexibility for personal circumstances).

The church was planted in September 2007 and is based in Sudbury, a beautiful and thriving market town on South Suffolk North Essex Border (90 minutes from London). It has a sizeable impact on this town and the surrounding villages through Storehouse Foodbank (which helps over 3,000 people a year) and has built strong relationships with other local churches and organisations in the community.

The successful applicant would have experience being on a pastoral team, for example: assistant/associate pastor, within a Vineyard Church. They would also have good people and managerial skills, being able to oversee teams and develop leaders.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the church into its next stage of growth. There is a solid foundation of faith with a committed core of people serving the vision of the church. The church has an exciting future with its strong relationships with the community and local schools.

Stour Valley Vineyard has a warehouse-style Vineyard Centre which contains its offices, Sunday Services and mid-week activities (including Storehouse Alpha,  training courses and small groups).

Stores Team Coordinator

Storehouse Foodbank: Paid Part-Time Position -2 days a week (15 hrs)

We are looking to recruit someone with passion and energy to join our growing Storehouse team, based at the Vineyard Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk.

Storehouse is the compassion ministry of Stour Valley Vineyard Church and has been serving local families and individuals in crisis for nearly 14 years. It has seen significant growth over the last four years as the number of people fed has more than doubled (2017:1,559 people; 2020: 3,910 people). The amount of stock items processed has also increased exponentially (2017: 38,115 items; 2020: 72,321 items).

Because of this continued increase, year on year, Storehouse is now looking to employ someone to coordinate, recruit and train the team of volunteers who look after the food donations and process them as they come in. Discipleship is an important part of all Coordinator roles at Stour Valley Vineyard because we recognise that our prime responsibility as a church is ‘to make disciples’ (Matthew 28:19). This is done through every area or ministry in church life, Storehouse is no exception, and so this role is also a pastoral one.

The Stores Team Coordinator would also be responsible for maintaining our public Donation Stations at local Supermarkets and cultivating a good working relationship with the managers of those supermarkets.

Storehouse has a strong relationship with the local community and keeps them updated on its fluctuating stock requirements through its Facebook page. Keeping the public well-informed through Facebook will also be part of this role.

Person Specification:

  • A person of faith and a follower of Jesus, willing and able to disciple others
  • Good communication skills
  • Good timekeeping
  • Ability to manage a team
  • Able to work in a team environment and receive instruction
  • Good logistical skills for stock rotation and management
  • Physically fit and able to lift stock trays
  • Clean driver’s licence and use of their own vehicle
  • IT skills – must be familiar with email, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Facebook.
