drop in and pray for a day

9.30am – 9.30pm in the Vineyard Centre, Tudor Road, Sudbury

Emma and Andrew are inviting you to join them for a Day of Prayer for our nation. In a year of uncertainty we want to see God’s light shine through and bring unity and hope to other. We want a country come together with common-unity.

Someone once said that Intercession is an act of love, so let’s come together and show our love for our nation through praying for our leaders and communities.

Without a shadow of a doubt, 2019 will be a year of change and transition for the UK. Whatever happens with Brexit, the upheaval in our country will be great and felt by everyone. So, it is more important now than in any other time in our history as a church that we gather to pray, and call upon God for mercy and help as we go into 2019.

We don’t need to be alarmed, or afraid of the change, God has a plan. Our part is to seek His face and listen to Him so that He can show us how to pray and what to do. Prayer should always be a two-way conversation, so parts of this day will be given over to listening, others to worshipping God and thanking Him and others to calling out for His help.

There is no need to sign up for sessions. We simply ask that when you arrive, you do so quietly, aware that others may be engaged in listening to God already.

go ‘treasure hunting’

During the afternoon, from 1-4pm, there will be an opportunity to go into the town and surrounding areas to follow a ‘Treasure Hunt’ and look for the people God is leading us to. There will be some teaching at the start of this session, led by Paul Green, Speakers of Life Essex, who regularly takes groups out Treasure Hunting and has a lot of experience in this area.

If you would like to learn how to hear God and follow the prompts of the Holy Spirit, this is a very practical way of doing that. You won’t be going out alone but will be in groups of three or four. Others who would like to, can stay at the Vineyard Centre, listening to God for further clues and prayerfully supporting those who have gone out.

Some of you may like to fast for the day. Here’s what you need to know.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

“We never know how God will answer our prayers, but we can expect that He will get us involved in His plan for the answer. If we are true intercessors, we must be ready to take part in God’s work on behalf of the people for whom we pray.”

Corrie ten Boom

We will close the day with worship, communion and an opportunity to share what we feel God has been saying to us…and of course, to pray all together for the coming year.

This is going to be a significant occasion. We look forward to having you with us.
